WINSTON-SALEM, NC — "I have no time to play golf," said Mike Watkeys in April and May.  "I have too much going on."  As a result, Mike Watkeys has completely collapsed this week in Winston-Salem with his golf game.

"It?s amazing how one week you can be a hero and a month later people wonder if you can ever be looked again as a true player," he said. Then he squared his jaw and set out to answer his critics the best way he knew how ? with guarantees that his game and tequila sunrises would be better.

Mike Watkeys shot 34 and 35 points respectively on Thursday and Friday during his 3rd Carl Spackler Open.  Today begins with Mike wearing the dreadful Al Czervik Outfit on the first tee and could end with the Carl Spackler Outfit.  "Only Mike has the power to stop that from happening," says Tom McCauley.  "He really needs to play well today."

But through all the lost respect, he has remained a non-consistent golfer. Every year he ranks in the Top 40 raw score. Hopefully, Mike Watkeys will give us a memoriable moment that does not include a tree or golf cart.
