Registration Opens

July 15, 2012

TERRA ALTA, WV — July 15 marks the first date Loozers can formally register for GXVI. As in the past, there are a number of options for Loozers to choose from, both financial and non-financial.

Options have been set up in the site to give Loozers a lot of choices to enhance their trip. Apparel choices are the same as last year; this year's color is purple (think TCU or Northwestern, thanks Randy!). Golfapalooza founder GStan is looking forward to the two man scramble round. "I think it's going to f#?*!%%$ng awesome to see purple shirts all over the course this year. I can't wait to hear what Sizeten will have to say!"

As in the past, numerous contests will be held on the course to give Loozers an opportunity to have a little extra to spend at the card table. 100 FEET!!!!, Boland, JT, the long-drive and long-putt competitions are all returning to GXVI. Bro weighed in on a change to the long-drive and long-putt. "Last year it was set up where you had to enter both contests. After some feedback at the cabin, I decided to split them up so you can enter one but not the other. I'm expecting a decline in the long-drive entries but an increase in the long-putt participation." All of these are in addition to the annual skins and closest to the pin contests that the majority of Loozers join in on.

Perhaps the biggest change this year is beer on the course. Loozers will need to purchase beer at the clubhouse instead of leaving coolers on the 2nd fairway. Sheik and Butter were asked to comment on this change. "We try our best to keep this trip as low cost as possible; frankly we're tired of getting crap from the clubhouse every year about sneaking our own beer on the course," Butter said. "How do they know? It's the jacka$$e$ that throw away bottles (or brands they don't sell) every year in the garbage cans on the course. Pretty much every course any Loozer plays does not allow golfers to bring in their own beer, so let's give the course a little more business for putting up with us." Sheik also chimed in. "We have negotiated $2 beers with the clubhouse again this year. They have said they'll stock pretty much whatever we want, but our requests have to be reasonable." If your beer of choice is not listed in the options, send me an email with what you want."

Payment may be made by cash, check, Paypal cash transfer or credit card. Credit card payments will have a $6 fee associated with the charge to offset Paypal processing fees. There are many balance options to choose when paying with a credit card as there are many different combinations of options. Choose the payment option that is closest to your balance due; all small balances owed or refunded will be settled up at the cabin.

66 days remain until the GXVI practice round.
