WESTERVILLE, OH — Kyle "Alf" Alford has been counting down the days to GXVII since he got his original invite back in November. Alf's entire spring and summer has been dedicated to preparing himself for his first, and hopefully not last, trip to Alpine Lake and this year's last major.

He attended BroMadness and had his first encounter with some of regular loozers. He got his first taste of Kings and Little Ones and Fours and Sevens. He snored so loud that JT had to leave the house at 5 a.m. because he couldn't sleep through the room vibrations. He was also one of the first contributors to the "Stupid Pot" after declaring that the guy from the AT&T commercials was making "Millions".

He attended the 2013 Quackenbush Open and met some additional loozers. He quickly became a good pal of Dosky's and Whitey's (and the cart girl) as he continued to buy shots on the course. This is also where his golfing abilities were seen for the first time in person. The current prop on Alf's first full round at Alpine Lake was set at 80 back in April, but with news of yesterday's event, that number might be in jeopardy.

Alf, with the help of three non-loozers (strike one), won a four-man scramble tournament at New Albany Country Club on Monday that was sponsored by the NFL Alumni Association. First prize was a trip to Las Vegas to play in the National Tournament. Alf also got his name on the short list of Johnson contenders by winning the long drive contest and the $500 gift card that went along with it.

Congratulations Alf, but I don't think you're getting 80 now.
