Registration Table
May 10, 2014
MOUNT STERLING, KY — The Carl Spackler business office announced today the annual registration table will return this year, which will be run by Jay Dilks. The table, located near the staged golf carts, is a required visit for all participants.
"The event is large and procedures changed a couple of years ago to correspond," says Captains Club Member Jay Dilks. "Each golfer must register with our table 30 minutes before the afternoon practice round. It is not optional. I need to empty my trunk."
The registration table will be signing-in golfers along with distributing gifts, participant option purchases, pairing sheets, and personalized bag tag.
"The purpose of the table is to acquire must needed efficiencies," says Jay Dilks. "We have hundreds of items to distribute. The most senior members of the Carl Spackler Open are not excluded from this requirement. There needs to be zero items on our table when the practice round begins."
The registration table will be setup near the practice range, staged carts, and clubhouse.
"Jay Dilks is glad to help and deserves some practice time and attention," says Greg Long. "The table will be setup around 12:30pm and you can help the event by not delaying your visit to the registration table. Unless asked to do so by Jay Dilks, please do not retrieve items for other golfers as it causes communication issues. Grabbing an idiot by the ear and dragging him over to the table can be helpful after 1:00pm."
"This table went on trial in 2011," says Jay Dilks. "It went very well with a few changes in 2012. The Captains Club and event has experienced a large efficiency, however we still have golfers showing up 10 minutes before a shotgun start and golfers not visiting the table upon arrival. We can do better."
The 2014 Carl Spackler Open will hold its practice round on Wednesday, May 14 starting at 2:00PM. The shotgun start will open the range for practice at 12:30PM. General announcements are scheduled for 1:45PM with carts scheduled to depart for starting holes at 1:50PM.
