Changing of Times

July 16, 2004

MARYSVILLE, OH — Tom Fowble, use to be someone that you could count on to shoot 130+ strokes per round.  In fact, he is the only player in the history of golf to shoot 138 without losing a ball.  But with a few lessons, he moved steady toward a better golf game.

Fowble captured his first Golden Jacket last year in Madison, Ohio and has continued to play even better.  His game, although sometimes very slow, has dropped to the low 100's and he still is not losing golf balls.

"It has been a lot of hard work," says Fowble. "You cannot win championships without putting time into it and a little luck."  Fowble might be referring to Chad Long's 6-foot miss last year.  That brought Tom his first Golden Jacket.

Tom has currently moved up into 15th place on the On Tour Championship Leaderboard.  He sits with 38.6 points per round and 2 points per round from 8th place.  Tom is expected to play twice this coming weekend and that could change everything.
