ROCKY MOUNT, NC — "Boom!  How do you like those 48 points," says Scott Mealey after a visit to a highly rated Neuse just south of Raleigh.  "I am looking to finish strong in the On Tour Championship and enter my first major in November as a rookie for the 2005 Carl Spackler Open Championship."

Mealey, who could not muster a set of kitchen passes in 2004 says there is nothing stopping him next year.  "I'm in," Mealey, 35, told reporters during his round at the Neuse on Sunday.  His round at the Neuse could be his last round before moving to Las Vegas.

With a verbal commitment from Mealey, the Open Championship invades Nevada joining Oregon and Texas as the only states west of the Mississippi River.

Mealey shot 99 strokes with what seemed relief.  "There is a big difference between 99 and 100 these days.  It is the difference between triple-digits and double-digits.  It truly is more than just one stroke."

Mealey shot 3 pars and 6 bogeys on Sunday and looked great.  "The most impressive thing was the absence of snowmen on his card," said playing partner Jamie Myers.  "The course was outstanding and Mealey looked really sharp out there."  These comments are assumed to be targeted at his golf game and not his attire.

The On Tour Championship is scheduled to be completed in 4 months.  The Red Zone Alert is set to begin in 2 weeks.  This will be very important for many players, but especially important for one of our "Red Zone Violators".
