OCEANSIDE, NY — As the winning captain in the GXXII KGB Cup it was Whitey's responsibility to select the captains for the GXXIII edition of the event. In true Whitey fashion, when he was asked for his selections there was no long, drawn out selection show. It was simply "Fire and Ice." The much anticipated matchup between two long-time friends had the potential to be one of the great events in the storied history of Golfapalooza. Unfortunately the buildup was all for nothing; Winthorp has to be in New England for his niece's wedding and has withdrawn from GXXIII. When Whitey was informed of this news, he just had one thing to say - "Sensei." The only guy who knows how to get in Monte's head better than Winthorp is Sensei. It was quite the save by Whitey.

Early this week Monte and Sensei met at a local bar to choose their teams. Winthorp was supposed to attend but no-showed, so they had to rely on the assistance of their friendly waitress Stephanie to help. Pairings are as follows for Team Fire (Monte) and Team Slush (Sensei):
