For the Glory
September 6, 2004
HERNDON, VA — Andy Cohen, who calls home Herndon Centennial and Algonkian Regional, has renewed passion for the game and plays for a potential chance at glory.
Cohen is currently in 44th place towards the On Tour Championship with 31.2 points per round.
To an outsider, going from no golf in 2003 to eight rounds in 2004 reflects a dramatic passion for the game. Although this game still needs work, he finds a sense of humor usually well hidden behind his talk of Penn State football.
When asked by a member of the field at the Carl Spackler Open this year if he was famous, he said, "I used to be. I was a household name when I was at Penn State as a student."
Cohen regardly shoots in the 120's on a difficult course and in the low 110's when he travels to his home courses. Cohen is expected to take the fall off from golf, but plans to return in early spring for another chance at glory.
