WARREN, PA — Jim Campbell started the summer as the forgotten man in the 4th annual On Tour Championship, with the triumvirate of Steve Hoden, Kevin Long, and Jason Ridgeway the talk of Winston-Salem.

Campbell, while placing 40th in this past summer's premier event and 5 points behind leader English in the On Tour Championship, was never talked about as a worthy contender after his NOOG points were adjusted this spring. But to everyone?s surprise, Campbell is holding 8th place and making a late charge at his first prestigious honor.

"Deep down inside I think my game has improved dramatically," said Campbell. "I like my chances of being able to shoot good scores this summer, but English is just playing out his ass right now."  As the conditions are expected to get more difficult for the 2005 Open, Campbell has made it his job to begin to play more consistent.

Campbell played twice in the past two weeks shooting 51 and 43 points respectively.  His tournament is primarily being played on Jackson Valley Golf Club in Russell, PA.  The On Tour Championship completes in 75 days.
