GXXVIII - Cornhole Singles

August 24, 2024

WHEELING, WV — This year, 32 participants have decided to enter into the Cornhole Singles tournament.  Those 32 participants were then randomly drawn into slots in the single elimination bracket.

Here is a breakdown by region.

Sokos Region

The Sokos region contains 4 previous belt winners (2 singles and 2 doubles).  Both Mr. Randy Watson and Sleepy are former singles champs, while Fun Dan and B-Dubs have previously captured Doubles titles.  First round match-ups include:

GG vs Randy

Fun Dan vs Dosky

B-Dubs vs Size10

Sleepy vs Bubba

Grundo Region

The Grundo Region includes a couple of former finalists in Whitey and Spanky, as well as a former Doubles champ in Killer.  First Round match-ups include:

Whitey vs Padre

Spanky vs Kellas

Off-White vs Monte

Killer vs Colt45

Squib Region

This might be the most interesting region, as last year's finalist, JT and GStan were both drawn into this region with a possible match-up in the Sweet Sixteen.  First round match-ups include:

GStan vs C-Dubs

JT vs Beef

Bro vs SalPal

Winthorp vs Scoots

Clem Region

This might be the most competitive region, where 6 of the 8 participants are considered "A" players.  The first round match-ups include:

KGB vs Hurricane

Honey vs Toth

Sensei vs Spyder

Quack vs Alf

Defending champ JT had this to say about the draw, "At the end of the day, I have to beat everyone anyway, so it does not matter if it is in the Sweet Sixteen or the Finals, I will put that GStan guy down yet again!"

The Cornhole Singles tournament is part of the Calcutta Auction.  The owner of the singles champ walks away with 10% of the total Calcutta pot.
