Lashley in a "SLUMP"?

July 16, 2001

ROCKY MOUNT, NC — Nothing is ever the way it seems with Chris Lashley.

Twice this year, he has chastised Carl for exaggerating performances good and bad.  It took only three rounds at the start of the season in the Summer Open for someone to mention the word "slump."  After finishing at an impressive 4th place at the Spring Open, he has slipped to 26th place in the 2002 Carl Spackler Summer Open Championship.

"They make more of it when you are playing well, and they make more of it when you are playing bad," Lashley said. "That's just the way it is."

Chris is still Chris, but at least he has something that resembles competition since he is shooting almost identical to fellow Carolina golfer, Jamie Myers.

?I?m playing better than Engler and Walker?, said Lashley.  ?I know that I placed well in the Spring Open, but why all the fuss.  I would like the rest of the field to play with this mask.?
