Hoffert's Magic #46
October 15, 2004
HERNDON, VA — With 45 days left in the On Tour Championship, organizers are excited about the tightest year-long tournament in the 4 year history. Glenn Hoffert has until November 30 to post one scorecard of 46 points or more to take the lead. The magic number 46 could possibly be enough for his 2nd On Tour Championship in 4 years.
"This is very exciting," says Hoffert from his home in Virginia. "My game is pretty sharp this year, but it always helps when you play more than once or twice a year." Hoffert has been non-consistent and playing in the high 80's to the high 90's. Both are much better than the mid 100's back in 2003 and 2002.
"This very tight season tournament of 59 players really shows the point system works," said Jay Dilks. "There are 41 players between 31 and 41 points. That is really great for the integrity of our handicap system."
Jim English leads the On Tour Championship with 48.7 points per round. Hoffert currently is in 2nd place with 48.4 points.
