Two Weeks Left

WARREN, PA — Jim English, playing two local courses where he "feels comfortable," continues to lead the 2004 On Tour Championship by 1/3 of a point over Glenn Hoffert.  There are just over two weeks left for the season long tournament.

"I look at my first three rounds this year and did not think I can still do this," English says. "Something just happened and I just started moving up the leaderboard.  A little each week until I reached the top spot.  It feels great."

Jim English, from Pennsylvania, is routinely scoring 48+ points since July.  He can close the door on his first On Tour Championship after registering in April 2004. Glenn Hoffert of Virginia is currently in 2nd place followed by Mike Lewis of Pennsylvania, Matt Davis of Pennsylvania, and Tom Fowble of Ohio rounds out the Top 5.

"A 102 may look real easy, but not for me," English said. "But Cable Hollow and Blueberry are golf courses that I feel comfortable under wet conditions. If these greens were hard and firm, I would not feel a whole lot about my chances to lead the tournament."

Pat Boland of Georgia has 13th place.  Fred Bessette is the highest ranking for North Carolina and currently holds 14th place.  Scott Mealey from Nevada has 21st place.  Greg Graziano from Oregon has locked in 35th place.  Surinder Punia from New York has 37th place.

Chris Lashley has bottomed out the field after winning the 2002 On Tour Championship.  NOOG points are scheduled to be reset on January 1, 2005.
