SOUTHERN SHORES, NC — Chris Lashley, the winner of the 2002 On Tour Championship, fell nearly 60 spots in 2 years to rock bottom. The Captains Club is nearly ready to award Lashley with his first last place finish.  But Lashley has other plans.  Plans to play the Currituck Club and achieve a mark that would likely start a Spackler investigation of scorecard tampering.

Lashley owns last place needing a 42 point effort to climb out of the cellar.  With 9 bonus points for course strength, Lashley will require 33 NOOG points.  Lashley gets 2 points for bogey and 3 points for par.

Lashley started his season early on January 4 while shooting his best round.  His 35 points was average, but things fell dramatically throughout the year.  His 2nd round fell from 35 to 28, but remains his 2nd best round of the year.  His last and 10th round over the 4th of July weekend was a low 17 points.

"It has been rough out there.  I cannot expect to finish well when my scorecards are above triple-digits," says Lashley.  "The stress of a new career is my excuse.  I am happy with my position for next season and looking forward to my new large load of NOOG points."

Lashley placed 20th of 39 players in 2003.  He registered in early 2002 and won his first On Tour Championship 6 months later.

Lashley can become the first player in Carl Spackler history to win and lose the On Tour Championship. The field of players awaits to see if Lashley will sign for his 3rd major.
