Rehab Complete
December 13, 2004
DUBLIN, OH — Jason Ridgeway did not skip the chance of finishing strong in the 2004 On Tour Championship despite his wrist injury that sidelined him for the better part of July and August. His rehab is complete and his excitement for 2005 is near a fever pitch.
"There is no absolutely no reason why I can't play, and it's categorically false to say that rehab centers have asked me to sideline myself," Ridgeway said. "That is the primary reason I returned in late November to play a round at the local Golf Club of Dublin."
Ridgeway made big news after his injury because he placed 2nd in the 2004 Carl Spackler Open scoring 10 birdies. "I think everyone is concerned about Jason because he's had so many high points in his short career," Tom McCauley said. "The last thing everyone wants is another Jim Brown."
Ridgeway hopes he is at the end of his latest rehab stint, and he hopes that his shoulder is well enough to allow him to play at the top next season. The tournament gets under way February 1.
"I hit my shots in November very well," Ridgeway said while practicing his chipping at the local range. "There is no pain except the local media. I am without cortisone and fully recovered. I am eager to play, so I'm out here at the earliest possible time. If I needed to play 54 in one day, I might even be competitive already."
Jason Ridgeway placed 10th in the 2004 On Tour Championship with 41.5 points per round. He was receiving 2 points for par and 5 points for birdie. He received nothing for any scores over par.
