Weaser Strong in 2005
December 20, 2004
WARREN, PA — Randon Mineweaser, the winner of the 2004 Rookie of the Year, is excited about 2005. Not about the 2005 Carl Spackler Open, but the 2005 On Tour Championship.
"Unfortunately, my daughter will be graduating high school during the major championship," says Mineweaser. "This and maybe a death would keep me away." Mineweaser has turned his focus from one major championship to the On Tour Championship and a chance to make his own statement to the field.
Mineweaser averages 98.2 strokes per round. Weaser placed 48th in the 2004 On Tour Championship averaging 31.9 points per round.
The 2005 NOOG Points are scheduled to be reset on January 1, 2005. Mineweaser stands to inherit less points than in 2004 with his stellar play of the past year. "The only way to win is to work hard," says Weaser. "It will take focus and practice and I am ready to do so."
The 2004 On Tour Championship finished on November 30, 2004. Jim English won the season-long tournament with 48.7 points per round.
