POTTSVILLE, PA — Today with excitement, the Captains Club proudly announces the start of their 5th On Tour Championship. The season-long tourney starts today and ends in exactly 10 months on November 30, 2005.

"We're really excited about our record size," says Don Creighton. "I never dreamed our tournament could exceed 100 participants by 2005. I guess it truely shows the demand for organized golf."

Scott Zavinski from Virginia leads the tournament early with 40.3 points per round. Matt Munksgard from Florida follows Scott in second with 37.1 points per round. Joe Butkus and Jean Dore complete the currently Leaderboard of 4 players.

"Zavinski stood to get some extra NOOG in 2005 after his debacle in late 2004," says Greg Long, Chairman of the Captains Club.  "He should position himself nicely in 2005 unless his game continues to fall."

A record number of scorecards are expected again in 2005 with 68 players attending this year's Open Championship in Pottsville.

The On Tour Championsip begins today. The tournament organizers reset all player NOOG points on January 1. Golfers can enter their scorecards when ready, however three scorecards are required to enter the tournament.
