Nickles Registers

June 28, 2005

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — Jay Glover's buddy Dave Nickles has registered with the Carl Spackler Open golf program. The announcement was made by Captains Club members Tom McCauley and Jason Watson on Monday.

Heavy demand for another player from Virginia is rumored for the quick registration. Dave joins a heavy field from Virginia in attempt to win the coveted prize and make a strong statement for the lacking state.

"We are thrilled to have Dave join our golf program," said Tom McCauley at the annual rookie convention. "Obviously, to be able to keep a young man like Dave focused on Spackler, with his athletic and academic talents, we are very happy."

Jason Watson had further comments. "Nickles is an outstanding young man, but someone that needs slapped for missing out in Pennsylvania," says Watson.  "Someone should be held accountable even if it is Glover."  Watson did part ways with his initial thought to make strong prediction.  "Nickles is an incredible competitive spirit from what I hear," says Watson. "He will be an excellent addition to our group, and he will fit in very well with our other numbskulls in Virginia. I expect Dave to make an immediate impact even if he cannot break 100."

Nickles played Heron's Ridge this past week shooting 103 strokes and 45 points.  His best round to date had one lone birdie and one par.

"I got rid of the quad bogeys and double digit numbers," says Nickles. "This is a great tournament and need to elminate large mistakes."

The 2005 On Tour Championship will be half over on Friday with six months to go.  Dave holds 40th place all by himself.
