A Little English

July 10, 2005

WARREN, PA — There is always room for "a little english" on the ball.  Except on rare circumstances, the english is applied by English.  Jim English nearly shot a career low 97 strokes at Cable Hollow last Thursday.  He followed that up on Saturday with nearly a career high 45 points at Blueberry Hill.

"Things are good," says English.  "My putting is terrible, but the rest is real good right now."  English is probably referring to his 40 putt per round average, which is clearly one of the worst on tour.

"If he 1 putts nothing, he averages four 3-putts per round," says Steve Hoden of Warren.  "There is some instruction needed in that area for sure."

English stands to drop 8 strokes off his game if he can bring his average down to a reasonable 32 or 33 putts per round.

Jim English is the winner of the 2005 On Tour Championship.  He currently holds 32nd position in a field of 75 players.

In other news, Tom Fowble, Brian Long, and Mike Trojanowski scored 50+ points over the past few days.  Brian Long's 53 points was the largest surprise so far.  Long is currently in 53rd position.
