GALLOWAY, OH — Fatigue is the cardinal sin in the On Tour Championship.  The physical strength and mental strain to stay focus is essential.  Jim DeMaria failed to keep focused through the front nine at Darby Creek Golf Club in Marysville, OH.

"Things were OK, but the wheels clearly left the tracks starting with my tee sot on Hole 9," said DeMaria after shoting an impressive 5-over on the first 8 holes.  "The rest was Punia-type golf."

The remaining 10 holes resulted in 2 double bogeys, 4 triple bogeys, and 2 quads.  That is 58 strokes on the back nine and tears of frustration for the ride home.

"The round was broken up into great golf and terrible golf," says DeMaria.  "My sides were broken up throughout two weeks during league play.  How does someone's game slide that far in one week?  I wish I knew."

The round resulted in 24 points.  That disappointing round has dropped Jim into 69th place overall for the 2005 On Tour Championship with 30.2 points per round.

The 2005 On Tour Championship received lots of moves on the Leaderboard including Scott Zavinski who has been moving upward for months.  Greg Long, who was also declared a sandbagger, has turned it on since May to make a strong showing through July.  Mike Herron, the Carl Spackler, shot 78 over the weekend.

The 2005 Red Zone Alert begins on July 31.  That gives players two weeks to complete their business.
