Looking for Answers

August 9, 2005

BUFFALO, NY — Mike Trojanowski, who was in 10th place for the On Tour Championship, is now looking for answers to whether his re-engineered golf swing has come off plane or he is just a victim of car lag from his weekend trip to Michigan.

A strong start including 49 strokes on the front nine of the Grande ended horribly with tons of 7's down the stretch.  Things only got worse at Cascades including a par 5 that he nearly reached in two shots before taking an additional 7 shots from just off the fringe to reach a dreadful 9.

Trojanowski scored only 11 points on the front nine of Cascades while carding 5 bogeys on the back.

"It was clearly a yardage issue," says Trojanowski.  "There is a yardage point for everyone and mine is less than 6,500."

Trojanowski did blast a ball on 413 yard, par 4, Hole 5 what was measured 262 yards and only 11 inches off the middle of the fairway.  "My day was summed up by a great long game and dreadful short game and iron play," says a very frustrated Trojanowski.  "After my huge drive on #5, I had a 145 yards to the green.  It took 6 strokes from there."

In other news, Kyle Marti shot a Mountain Valley-like 111 and 116 strokes scoring a dismal 58 points through the entire weekend.  The course bonuses were 23 points.

Greg Long carded a 6-over 78 scoring 46 points at the Grande Golf Club.  He tripped on Sunday at Cascades Golf Course with a double and triple bogey on the front nine scoring on 38 points and carding 83 strokes.

The Red Zone Alert has officially begun with only one player in the clear.  Rick Dosky is expecting this third child in March.

The 2005 On Tour Championship has a new leader.  Jean Dore averages an impressive 51.5 points per round.
