Passing 4,000 Cards

August 14, 2005

COLUMBUS, OH — Carl Spackler Open.com prepares for another milestone.  An astonishing 1,000 scorecards in 4 1/2 months.  "I really cannot believe it," says Ravinder Bakshi.  "We are talking about 9 guys who started this thing in 2001 and now 1,000 scorecards in 17 weeks.  That is incredible."

In conjunction with Golfapalooza, the largest golf trip in America plans to reach another milestone this week with their 4,000th submitted scorecard in just 5 1/2 short years.

Ravinder Bakshi joined the group back in early January and is responsible for 23 scorecards.  Joe Butkus is the most active member posting 69 scorecards in the past 9 months.  The website is expected to surpass 4,000 scorecards this week.

The 4,000 scorecards does not surprise Greg Long. "It does not surprise me," says Greg Long, Chairman of the Captains Club. "It really demonstrates the demand for a place to gather and share golf information."

The website has nearly been converted to a new Poststats.com system set for release this fall.  The plan is to open amateur sports entertainment to everyone in America.

"It was only a start to what was yet to come," says Long. "We really like the progress with the Carl Spackler Open. I think the tournament is growing at pace we cannot control at the moment. It is just too much fun for people to sit back and ignore.  There is no telling what our new system will do."

The new system is being built anticipating 1,000+ scorecards per weekend.  Extensive error checking with course surveys, ranking system, and will include the opportunity to sign scorecards for integrity.

The 2005 On Tour Championship is being led by Jean Dore of Virginia Beach, VA.  As he holds onto the top spot, players in Virginia begin to dream of what it will be like for the state of Virginia to win more than the Al Cverik Outfit.
