Pushing for Glory

GLEN ALLEN, VA — Don Creighton continues to fall as players continue to find their swing in August. Scott Zavinski jumps over several players into 2nd position for his first On Tour Championship.
Scott is still 4.6 points per round from Jean Dore, however has plans to overtake him. "I only need 82 points in my next round to overtake him," says Zavinski. "It is destiny in the making. It might sound like I have work to do, but I don't think so. It is all putting."
Scott Zavinski shot 11-over par with 56 points on Sunday at the Crossings. Scott carded two unprobable birdies to match a career high.
In other news, a golf course yardage entry error has improved Don Creighton's statistics and vaulted him back in 3rd place with 49.0 points per round. The early front-runner Steve Hoden has fallen to 6th place.
Scott Miller, Matt Davis, and Chris Lashley continue to fall as registrations continue through August. Lashley now holds 78th position with 15.7 points per round. "If you play from 5,400 yards and end up parless, you deserve last place," says Lashley says. "That was worst round (8 points) of golf in my life."
The On Tour Championship stands to see significant disruption from the college and NFL football which starts in 2 weeks. The champion will be crowned in just over 4 months.
