PITTSBURGH, PA — CEO Jamie Myers announced Saturday that Warren High School's Matt Davis has signed a national letter of intent to play golf at the 2002 Carl Spackler Open Championship in the spring of 2002.
As Founder and Owner of the P.W.R.P (Pokeys Whipped Rehabiliation Program), Pokey has a huge part in this year?s major championship. Pokey has been working to help all players achieve those sometimes impossible kitchen passes and help give back the freedom that the field is looking for.
As indicated on the site itinerary, the Round 1 tee-times will begin on Thursday at 12 noon. There are five tee-times for each round and current have 2 three-somes.
"We definitely are looking for two additional players", said Matt Davis of the Captain's Club. Kitchen Passes are not easy to obtain, but I'm sure there is a few players out there." Any player can register for the Championship upon receipt of $125 or $250 by February 8th.
Other tee-times include an early 9:30am Friday tee-time for Round 2 and extra early tee-time on Saturday to allow plenty of player time before the awards ceremony. The Colonial is also partnering with the Spackler Open on Friday morning with the "Closest to the Pin" contest. This contest will allow the field to register two golf balls and have the opportunity to knock one close. The Spackler Open will be different as the players will all commense to the tee box at the same time.
The Carl Spackler Open is scheduled for April 18-21 in Williamsburg, VA. There is currently 11 players, which includes four new rookies.
