COLUMBUS, OH — The Carl Spackler Open is scheduled to be played in less than 250 days. "It's time to start thinking about the money", said CEO Jamie Myers.  Myers also wants everyone to be reassured that an additional $125 is due before January 15, 2003.

Matt Davis (i.e. Pokey), Vice-President of Kitchen Pass Allocation released a quick statement for the Captain?s Club, ?It is important to save a few dollars in your Christmas budgets. This goes for the non-whipped players.  Our tournament will be a great opportunity, but will not be free.?

All players will be required to register through the Spackler Business Office by returning their annual letter of intent with a check.  Letters are scheduled to be mailed on November 30, 2002.

January 15, 2003 will be the absolute deadline for tournament registration.  The deadline has been established as a means for our department to count the number of serious players interested in this year?s major and for our office to make appropriate accommodations on January 16, 2003. Checks received after the deadline will be returned and the intended player will forfeit any right to attend the 2003 Open Championship.

The 2003 Carl Spackler Open Championship is scheduled to begin on June 5, 2003 at an undisclosed location in Ohio or Pennsylania.  The total cost for the tournament is estimated below $350, which will also be the purse.
