COLUMBUS, OH — The Captains Club has announced the signing of Pat McElroy of Columbus, Ohio to a letter of intent for the 2003 Carl Spackler Open.  Pat is the 7th rookie to sign for the 72 hole golf tournament.  He is also the 9th player from Ohio to sign.

"We are really proud to recruit such a quality young man as Pat," Jamie Myers said.  "He?s a very seasoned veteran of high calibre amateur golf and also golf league competition. Being part of such a great field should be a big asset coming in because we have very high goals at our major championship."

Myers continued, "We?ve been impressed with McDaddy's sound fundamental golf swing. He really puts his ass into the shot.  In addition, he?s got a very good short game with a nice putting touch and his course management is also the best I've seen in years."
