ASHTABULA, OH — The Warren area has signed one last player to a national letter of intent, Don Creighton announced Tuesday.  Joining the field of players this June will be Mike Davis (i.e. Gumby), brother of Captains Club member Matt Davis.

"Gumby possesses the physical talent, attitude and work ethic to become a great player at the Open Championship," says Pokey. "After watching him compete last summer, I am convinced that he will play a major role in our future success of the 2003 tournament and beyond.  He has an excellent golf swing, coupled with a competitive drive that impressed me.  I very am excited about Mike joining our program."

Mike has been a solid competitor at various tournaments on the local level like the Blueberry Two-Man.  Gumby brings an impressive 12 handicap and mostly like one of the top golf games in the field of players.

The Carl Spackler Open is scheduled to begin in 77 days in Madison, Ohio.
