ASHTABULA, OH — The Captains Club on Sunday released the official pairings for Round 1 of the 2003 Carl Spackler Open Championship.  The pairings were determined after requests were made via player partner exemption requests. "I think we have fulfilled all desires", said Greg Long, Chairman of the Captains Club.

The honoree tee time was first given to Pat McElroy as the Tournament Honoree.  Captains Club member Jason Watson and Tom McCauley will accompany him on the tee at noon.  The tee time format will be eight consecutive foursomes for 2003.  "I like the field size for this year's tournament", said Matt Davis. "It really helps when the number of players is divisible by four."

Other pairings include last year's winner Mike Trojanowski with 3 new rookies.  Captains Club members Jay Dilks and Don Creighton will be teeing with member Jeff Cowan.  The Horses Ass, Mike Watkeys will be returning and teeing it up with 3 new rookies.  The rookies being Brian Long, Shawn Long and Kyle Marti.  Three Longs including, Kevin, Jr., Kevin, Sr. and Greg will round out the pairings at 1:15pm.

CEO Jamie Myers will be teeing it up with Matt Davis and rookies Chad Long and Glenn Hoffert.  Greg Garrett and Rick Dosky will also be teeing it up with rookies Tom Fowble and Scott Miller.  "We really did a good job with the pairings", said Jay Dilks.  "There is a least one member within every foursome in Round 1.  That will help with the tournament procedures and rules.  It is amazing we could achieve this with 18 rookies."

Round 1 is scheduled to be played in 30 days in Madison, Ohio.
