Horses Ass Returns
June 7, 2003
ASHTABULA, OH — Mike Watkeys has the trophy and is returning the most interesting award to Madison, Ohio. With so many awards, Carl decided in 2002 that his tournament was more than just about the sport of golf. It would define a player's character.
Nominations will be taken verbally throughout the weekend, and the Captains Club will select the top three with the Tournament Honoree. The award can be won by anyone, however this individual must demonstrate, by a majority decision, what it truly is to be a "Horse?s Ass". Mind you, alcohol consumption may have absolutely nothing to do with the fields? determination.
The voting for this award will be taken at the Awards Ceremony. All field members will participate and must provide detailed accounts of their candidate?s actions leading to their legitimacy. Should there be a tie: the field, minus those nominees in the tie, will conduct a re-count vote, only for those members in the tie. Should there be a second tie: the Captain?s Club, minus those that are contestants for the award, will determine the winner.
Mike Watkeys has not mentioned golf since the signing. It really appears that there is no interest in the tournament. Jason Watson of the club made a brief statement. "We are working with Mike. The naked girls are certainly important, but he is putting himself in a position to wear the dreaded outfit. He had to put on a show in Round 4 last year to dig himself out of a hole." Mike plans to play his first round of the year today.
Last year, Mike was awarded the 2002 Horses Ass Award for slamming full speed into a tree with a golf cart while making a Tequila Sunrise. "That accident really hurt. I still have bruses on both my shins."
