Members head to Vegas

April 3, 2002

WARREN, PA — Many of the Carl Spackler Open members are heading to Vegas this week in celebration or mourning of member Erin Walker?s pending marriage.  Other members attending the festivities are Don Creighton, Jason Dilks, Mike Trojanowski, Jamie Myers and Erin?s brother, Shawn Walker.

Jason Dilks was quoted as saying, ?It is giving the Open some much needed exposure out west.  I?m planning on wearing my CSOC visor 24/7 and giving the 411 to everyone.?  ?Pink Tee? went on to comment, ?This will be my first trip to Sin City and with the crew I?m heading out there with I?m sure to bring back some stories for this year?s Open Tournament.?

Shawn Walker has managed to schedule a round of golf in for those making an appearance.  Friday tee times have been reserved at the Badlands Golf Course.  Frank Shaw, a Nike Golf Learning Center Pro is available on-site at the course.  Mike Trojanowski stated, ?While the majority of these morons will be losing their money at the tables, I?m looking to invest some in my game.  This trip will be the perfect get-in-shape vacation prior to the Open.?  Troj explained, ?I?m not looking to just have some fun at this year?s Open, I?m looking for Gold as in Jacket!?

The Badlands is a Johnny Miller and Chi Chi Rodriguez par 72 course that will test those willing to fork out the $90 green fees.  Shawn Walker commented, ?I was looking to ensure that I come out on top during this trip.  I don?t like the idea of any of these posers having a good round at some cow pasture and making me look bad.?

Golfers like E. Walker, Creighton and Myers are bound to get their money?s worth on Friday.  Donnie C. was reached via cell phone at a NYC club and stated, ?I?m just looking to loosen up and shake the rust off?Hey, gorgeous.  Can I buy to a martini??

With the Open just days away, the remaining field is beginning their preparations for the event.  Range balls are flying, clubs are being cleaning and, booze and tobacco are being purchased.
