RALEIGH, NC — The Carl Spackler Open added a talented performer with the signing of a "Come on Down" Bob Barker impersonator to letter of intent on Sunday.  Fred Bessette will join a men?s golf program that has been on the brink of greatness and double in size. Fred is the 3rd rookie to sign to play in the Open.

"We are thrilled that Barker have decided to make the drive to Winston-Salem", said Rick Dosky, Chief Financial Officer of the Captains Club.

Bessette, a wonderful registry will add to an already talented field of rookies and boost the average age at the annual event.  "Fred is retired, but at 150 pounds, he can really hit the ball a long way", said Jamie Myers.  "He is just short of spectacular when he gets a golf club in his hands."

"Bessette has a lot of regional tournament experience and has a very solid foundation of fundamentals", Dosky said. "It?s not hard to tell what a national championship atmosphere will do to his game."

Fred noted in his letter of intent, "I am not capable of shooting very low numbers because of my terrible short game, however I am just now hitting my stride as a competitor on the regional stage.  I expect good things in June."
