WINSTON-SALEM, NC — There are a few players that have dominated with the inside path.  Nick Price and Jim Furyk come to mind.  Lee Trevino won the 1974 PGA Championship at Tanglewood Park with an outside path, but Robby Fustich was just awful with his inside swing path during the 2004 Carl Spackler Open.

"He escaped a disaster," says friend and former roommate Glenn Hoffert.  "He really sat around the bottom of the leaderboard all week and slipped right through Watkeys and Mascaro's fingers."  Fustich, who once could guarantee the low 80's, cannot guarantee double-digits.

"That was close.  I played pretty poor," says Fustich.  "This tournament was so awesome.  It was what I needed in my life.  I simply cannot wait for next year even if my golf game is not double-bogey."  These comments are coming from a player that nearly lost the tournament and scored only 5 pars in 54 holes.

Rob Fustich has a unique swing that hosts a backswing that clearly goes outside as it revolves around the shoulder, then with a shift of the hips, he does what only a few golfers in the world can do.  He brings that club straight down 12 inches and then immediately goes after the dimples from the inside like he is trying to force a power draw.

Rob finished the tournament in 45th place.  The amazing thing is that he finished the tournament with the highest position of the week.  He sat in 47th place after Round 1 and 46th place after Round 2.
