Exceeding Expectations

July 26, 2004

WINSTON-SALEM, NC — The Spackler News Network exceeded expectations during its inaugural season in Winston-Salem, NC.  It provided laughter and specific inside views of the successful 4th annual Carl Spackler Open Championship.

"Dilks was fantastic," says Jamie Myers.  "It was not easy to hold the camera steady," says camera-man and SNN inventor Tom Fowble.  "It was a ground breaking event," says Don Creighton. "Fowble and Dilks deserve a MVP award.  They truely stole the show."

The SNN video footage was replayed in the hotel bar on Saturday for the field of players.  In the last few days, the footage was converted to media files and scheduled for publishing online.

"We have just coverted some of the footage to computer," says Fowble.  "We are expecting a 3-month process to pick apart the tape into clips for distribution."

The News Network is scheduled to return in 2005 with organized footage.  "We really had nothing prepared this year," says anchor Jay Dilks.  "We plan to take the network to another level in 2005 including a co-anchor."

The Spackler News Network plans to create queue-cards for their anchors.  These cards will include sponsorship, residence, handicap, NOOG points, club descriptions, and other personal information.

"These kinds of additions take our tournament from the best to the best with a substantial gap," says CEO Jamie Myers.  "There is no other amateur tournament with so much true value.  We are definitely looking forward to what is in store for 2005."
