EBENSBURG, PA — This weekend, Brian Long will embark on the last scouting trip for the 2005 Carl Spackler Open with a small group of Spackler members.  This trip will include a more detailed look at south eastern Pennsylvania.  The trip includes Mountain Valley (Hazleton), Olde Homestead (Allentown), Golden Oaks (Reading), and Iron Valley (Hershey).

Long will be traveling with Greg Long, Jason Watson, and meeting up with Grady Walters.  "It is our final scouting before the Captains Club vote this month," says Greg Long, Chairman of the Captains Club.  "We are driving right past Mountain Valley and Iron Valley and plan to make a quick stop.  The true bulk of the trip will be in Allentown and Reading."

The 2005 Carl Spackler Open is scheduled to begin play on June 8, 2005 in an undisclosed location.  Invitations are expected to be mailed on November 15.  "I truely believe we could hit 70 players this year," says Long.  "We really love the idea of Pennsylvania."

Brian Long is excited about his continued success on the golf course this year.  Brian placed 5th in the 2004 Open and currently holds 5th place in the On Tour Championship.  "I really like my swing," says Brian.  "I just need to focus and eliminate that one hole that becomes double-digits quickly."

The group of four is expected to play Olde Homestead Golf Club on Saturday and Golden Oaks on Sunday.
