Patio to miss round 1

September 6, 2004

WEXFORD, PA — Word was received at Golfapalooza HQ today that Mehul "Mohair Patio" Patel will miss at least round 1 of this year's tournament due to job interviews that cannot be rescheduled. "I hope JT can defend the Brown until I can get there. I know it will be a heavy load, but he's done it for years so he should be used to it," Patio said when asked to give his thoughts on missing round 1.

Patio's sponsor, Gus, was asked to comment.

"I was disappointed to hear that Mohair was going to miss some time. I hope it has nothing to do with me leaving on Friday," said Gus. When reminded that Patio had interviews, Gus replied, "the guy is looking at making over $200,000 next year. I like reuniting with the Flanagan family every year but if it's between that and making at least $4 million over the next twenty years, there's no question about it; you have to go for the cash."

Todd Flanagan and Bartlett were also disappointed, as anyone who was at GVII would understand.

Patio joins Pat Boland on the sidelines for round 1 of this year's event. 17 days remain until the start of GVIII.
