COLUMBUS, OH — Scott Miller started the summer as the forgotten man in the 2nd Carl Spackler On Tour Championship, with the triumvirate of Mike Trojanowski, Matt Davis and Tom McCauley the talk of Williamsburg. Miller, while having to pull out of last springs premier event and seven points behind leader Lashley in the summer championship, was never talked about as a worthy contender after his NOOG points were adjusted this spring.  But to everyone?s surprise, Miller has kept his 26% stroke improvement from 2001 afloat and holding 7th position firmly.

?Deep down inside I think my game has improved dramatically?, said Miller.  "I like my chances of being able to shoot good scores this summer, but Lashley is just playing out his ass right now."  As the conditions are expected to get more difficult for the 2003 Open, Miller has made it his job to begin to play more demanding courses such as the Senior PGA Tour Kings Mill outside Cincinnati, OH.

?I am just trying to get my ass kicked as much as possible right now.  Down the road, it will be for the best.?
