Going Low
October 11, 2004
OIL CITY, PA — Although the price for the 2005 Carl Spackler Open is still unknown, the Spackler Business Office surprised everyone today with great financial news.
"With great happiness, the tournament price for 2005 will decrease substantially," says the Chief Financial Officer Rick Dosky. "Although, we do not have the final numbers, the trip price will decrease for a record 4 straight years."
The last three years has seen a decreased tournament price from $337 to $330 to $329 while the services increased rapidly. "We have seen a steady price reduction each year," says an excited Dosky. "With the projected group size, we have once again substantially decreased the individual rate for the Carl Spackler Open. We are hoping to decrease by at least $10 per player, but cannot guarantee anything as of yet."
That places the 2005 tournament price below $319. "This increase funding includes additional services and entertainment value," says Chairman Greg Long. "We could surprise everyone once again and go extremely low, however will be reviewing the group budget for the next week or two. These prices include the standard tournament fee only. Players participating in the practice round, scramble, bowling, etc. will see additional fees."
The 2005 Carl Spackler Open is scheduled to be played in New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky, or Maryland. Course location is scheduled for release in 4 days on October 15, 2004.
