WARREN, PA — The Vice President Contests/Outfits, Matt Davis has announced the signing of three Munksgards of Warren, PA to national letters of intent.  Jon Munksgard, who signs for his 3rd straight major, Chet Munksgard (i.e. Chetty) as a rookie, and Jeff Munksgard (i.e. Hollywood) signs to play his first major championship.

"I call these guys our Munksgard Mash," said Davis from his home just south of downtown Pittsburgh, PA.  "We have our hands full with Chet and Jon for sure.  It looks like Chet will be another McFarland with Dolphins apparel throughout the weekend.  Jon always shows up with his best friend.  The Captain."

Jon returns with home field advantage over 66% of the field and sponsorship from Captain Morgan.  He discarded all reminders of 2003 debacle that dressed him up as Carl Spackler.  Munksgard was given the Carl Spackler Outfit award in 2003 after failing to complete the tournament due to lack of sight. He became the first player to withdraw from an Open due to a lack of one of the seven human senses. Jon lost his sight after drinking an entire bottle of Captains Morgan and racking up 83 strokes inside the first 17 holes of Round 3.

Jeff (i.e. Hollywood) is a player with Jackson Valley roots.  He plays the course as his home course and nearly guarantees 1 to 3 strokes over bogey golf each round.  He averages 1 birdie and 3 pars per round at Jackson Valley.

Hollywood was trying to enter this tournament on a quiet note, but failed to enter with a bland last name.  "I heard about this tournament and just want to come and enjoy the week," says Hollywood.  "I am not about to do something stupid and guarantee a Top 10 finish.  That is just dumb."  Davis immediately on the defense after hearing the news, "You cannot enter the Spackler with a last name of Munksgard and nickname of Hollywood and expect to just attend," said Davis.  "That name already sets expectations that he cannot downplay."  Davis rolled his eyes and finished with, "I stand corrected.  We will have our hands full with the entire Munksgard Mash."

Chet Munksgard is ready for a dog fight and excited about his home field advantage.  "You cannot put a price on a 4-hour drive," says Chetty.  "It really gives me an edge and nearly zero van-lag.  I also stand to get lots and lots of NOOG points as a rookie."  The Mountain Valley golf course is located in the Mountains and Forest of Pennsylvania.  It will put a premium on shot making, something that Chet better bring to the table regardless of assigned points.

The field of players was excited to hear the Munksgard's joined the group.  Specifically Jon was returning.  "We understand that Jon is looking into his golf swing and tolerance to the big Captain", said Kevin Long, Sr. "I think two points for a double-bogey and four points for bogey could make him the front-runner for a huge move in 2005. I am excited for him."

The "Munksgard Mash" signs as the 13th, 14th, and 15th players from Pennsylvania and the 40th, 41st, and 42nd players overall.  The 2005 Carl Spackler Open is scheduled for play in 142 days.  The Casino Contest is scheduled to return in 2005 with Blackjack, Roulette, and Texas Hold'em.
