GROVE CITY, OH — With only 107 days left before Round 1, all eyes are beginning to turn to Rick Dosky and the financials for the 2005 Carl Spackler Open in Barnesville, PA.

This year?s event has been scheduled for June 9th with a practice round available to participants on June 8th. The field is expected to be more competitive and the number of potential golfers registered with the website is a greater indication that the 5th annual tournament will be a greater success then 2004.

The December signing period has guaranteed attendance by all four Golden Jacket winners along with all four winners of the Spackler Outfit. Steve Hoden is scheduled to return with Tom Fowble, Mike Trojanowski, and Greg Long.  There is a record 68 players attending this year's event.

"There was concern that the field could be decreased just based on the letters received by Christmas", said Rick Dosky. "A lot of talk was going on, but nearly zero checks at Christmas." The postal mail did get busy just in the nick of time. "The checks just poored in during the last week", Dosky continued. "I was getting 10 per day that week."

A second optional payment is due on March 1, 2005. The funding page displays the remaining balance for payment. "Players can send a portion, nothing, or everything whenever they are ready. This reminder comes 7 days before the scheduled 2nd payment." The final deadline for the required $324+ is April 30.

On behalf of the Captains Club, Matt Davis did make one brief statement to the field. "Our CFO is collecting over $26,000 for the 2005 event. Please make this as easy as possible. Do not procrastinate."
