Preferences Complete
March 2, 2005
POTTSVILLE, PA — With less than 100 days left, the tournament player preferences are complete and further planning has begun. The Captains Club continues to move forward with more detail in hopes of a perfect experience for all.
"I am pleasantly surprised," says CEO of the Captains Club Jamie Myers. "I really did not expect 56% of the field would purchase a logo golf shirt this year. Our history set expectations around 40%, but with the new logo, I call it a pleasant surprise."
Don Creighton, Vice President of Consumption Management was also surprised with the number of riders for the bus. "This is excellent," says Creighton. "This ensures everyone will be safe and happy throughout the weekend." A school bus and driver have been rented in Pottsville for transportation to and from the golf course.
"The response of more than 44 bus riders has ensured we have supplied the appropriate services," Creighton said. "We are strongly considering two more rides from the River Inn to Maroon's on Saturday night for the Awards Presentation." The awards dinner begins at 7:00PM in downtown Pottsville. Rented vans with drivers are included on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday evenings to safely transport all players to and from the sports bar. Creighton finished his statement with, "This is a perfect example of large group leverage. This is really great stuff."
The Awards Dinner is scheduled at Maroon's Sports Bar. Included in the tournament fee, dinner on Saturday night is included with 91% of the players choosing Filet Mignon. "We are very excited about Maroon's," says Captains Club Chairman Greg Long. "In addition to dinner on Saturday night, we have included the first 150 draft beers on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Beers will be $1 thereafter and select sandwiches will be discounted."
Maroon's is a two story bar with televisions, Internet trivia, food, NFL history, and large private upstairs for the 2005 Carl Spackler Open. The Spackler News Network and Spackler Casino Contest are also planned for Maroon's. "This has really turned out awesome," says Jay Dilks, Vice President of SNN. "I am very excited."
A record 41 guys are scheduled to participate in the practice round on Wednesday and a record 51 guys are scheduled for the 4-man scramble on Friday afternoon.
