Ignoring the Option
March 7, 2005
POTTSVILLE, PA — With 93 days left, nearly 49 decided to ignore the optional payment created at the halfway point. The March 1 deadline for optional payments passed last Monday with few payments.
"With the few checks received, you wonder if the Spackler business office is having mail problems", said Rick Dosky. "But, when you consider the procrastination of December and January, you soon realize the money will not be coming until April."
There are a few players who are paid in full. Mike Lewis, winner of the 2004 Casino Contest, Jim Campbell, Glenn Hoffert, Scott Miller, Joe Butkus, and Surinder Punia have zero balances. Brian Flanagan, winner of the 2003 Stroke Award and 2004 scramble is nearly paid. 2002 Spackler Outfit Winner, Tom McCauley is nearly paid along with Marc Long and Mike Trojanowski.
Jay Dilks is nearly paid in full and ready for his 5th chance to win the Golden Jacket. Dilksy has been working on his putting and anchor position for the Spackler News Network. "I have been studying the profiles and working on reading greens," said Dilks. "My actual putting is not too bad, but I just cannot read them."
The importance of ontime payments is critical to the Spackler business office. A few reminders are scheduled for April. Rick Dosky is collecting the remaining $13,979 over the next 53 days.
