LAKE FOREST, IL — Bob Morris of Chicago, IL has signed a national letter-of-intent to play golf at the 2005 Carl Spackler Open, Mike Trojanowski of the Captains Club announced today. The 27th rookie will join the field in June for the annual 54-hole tournament.

A Chicago native, Bob has lived in Arizona, California, New York, Connecticut, Florida, back to California, back to Illinois, over the last decade. He brings one of the hardest swingers "on tour" as his religion does not permit woods.

"That was close," says Morris.  "I really was starting to worry about getting the chance to compete in the prestigious Carl Spackler Open.  It would be a dream to return with the Golden Jacket."

Bob averages in the mid 80's and plans to attack the tight Mountain Valley golf course.  "His control off the tee will be do or die for Bob," says Pat Boland.  "He is a great golfer and a individual who can place well.  I am excited to be around such a player; he has a great deal of talent and excitement for the game of golf. I suspect he will have a successful career at Open and hopefully will not beat me this year."

The 2005 Carl Spackler Open begins in 36 days near Pottsville, PA. A full itinerary of details can be reviewed on the website including a Red Tee Lottery.  The field returns to 67 players as the Captains Club continues to sign players.
