POTTSVILLE, PA — The 2005 Carl Spackler Open is nearly 50 days away.  The players have begun to enter scorecard after scorecard.  Money poured into Dosky last week, awards are set, and now it's time to pray for good weather.

Jean Dore, a rookie from Virginia Beach, is not taking any chances and bringing his umbrella.  "I know better than to travel into a rain forest unprepared," says Dore.  "I am a pretty smart guy."

The recent history of Mountain Valley has served up some really nice golf weather.  Using June 8, 9, 10, 11 as a model, there are 16 days to consider in the past four years.  One day (June 11, 2004) is the only day with precipitation.  There are 2 days with highs of 90 degrees, 6 days in the 80's, 6 days in the 70's and two days below 65 degrees.

"I do not think it will hold up this year," says Dore.  "I am expecting rain because a rain forest cannot continue on this type of trend.  I am bringing my umbrealla, gloves, towels, and shampoo."

Jean Dore has decided to make an early move up the leaderboard after a dismal start to the 2005 tournament.  Dore continues to score plenty of NOOG points as of late.  He is clearly playing better golf.

The 2005 Carl Spackler Open begins in 34 days.  Actual weather forecasts will be published starting May 30.  Jean Dore will hopefully be over dressed.
