NEW Pairing Sheets
May 31, 2005
POTTSVILLE, PA — The 2005 Carl Spackler Open is the largest multi-day golf trip in America. As the group continues to grow, the event requires a tremendous amount of organization to ensure everyone has the optimal experience.
With a field of 68 players, the Captains Club has put together daily pairing sheets that will certainly keep things organized throughout the week. "We are very happy with our communications this year and the pairing sheets is the exclamation point on our well organized event," says Mike Trojanowski.
A daily pairing sheet will be distributed upon arrival to everyone. Distribution will begin at range before the practice round or at the River Inn on Wednesday night. A smaller set of pairing sheets will be distributed at Maroon's Sports Bar on Wednesday night with updated scores from Wednesday play and a look into Thursday's Round 1 play.
Daily Pairing Sheets will also be distributed to all 68 players at the Mandatory Player Meeting on Thursday morning, Friday morning on the bus or at the golf course, and late Friday night at the River Inn.
"Without exaggeration, this gives everyone at the tournament information from their back pocket," says Kevin Long, Jr. "It is really well organized and put together and probably will be your best friend throughout the week."
The daily pairing sheets will include scheduled events, tournament leaderboard, room numbers, information on the casino contest and Red Tee Lottery, tournament rules, each pairing for each day, tee times, shotgun holes, contest information, weather forecasts, driving directions, practice round scores, tournament scores, bus schedule, shuttle phone number, optional scramble players, scramble teams, handicaps, NOOG points, Friday bus riders, casino contest winners, and overall stroke leaderboard.
"That is quite hard to believe," says Lee Spruill of Greenville, NC. "I got to see it to believe it. That is a tremendous amount of information for my pocket and I need room for my wallet and golf glove."
Some of the field has already seen the daily sheets. "I have seen the pairing sheets and they look pretty damn good," says Surinder Punia. "It?s a must have if one to get the maximum enjoyment possible from the tournament."
The 2005 Carl Spackler Open Championship Practice Round begins in 8 days. Weather forecasts begin to take shape on the top of each web page.
Greg Long and Surinder Punia are expected to arrive Monday night or Tuesday morning for extra practice rounds. Live Scoring of practice round play is scheduled to begin Tuesday night, June 7, 2005.
