POTTSVILLE, PA — The Captains Club set a new prize for the 2005 tournament. Another prize to not reward great golf. The winner of the prize would present the greatest shot. The greatest still photograph shot at the 2005 Carl Spackler Open.

Photographs have been mailed in full to the Captains Club with one exception.  Our own Carl Spackler has failed in every attempt.  "I am busy," says Mike Herron, wearer of the Carl Spackler Outfit.  "I promise they will be mailed this weekend."  Those were the statements from Mike 2 weeks ago.  

All received photographs have been reviewed for finalists.  "We would like to obtain all photographs so we include them all," says John McAninch.  "Excluding a photo is not going to happen when we have the time."  The winning photograph will win a $75 credit to the 2006 Carl Spackler Open.

The second place photograph will win a Carl Spackler logo golf towel.

"This has generated some pretty funny stuff," says Jay Dilks. "I wonder what kind of photos would be taken if the prize was doubled."

The higher volume of photographs is expected to help generate even more excitement for future championships and a fresh website.

The 2006 Carl Spackler Open begins in 312 days.  Another visit to Jackson, MI is planned for next Saturday and Sunday.  Invitations will be mailed on November 15 with $120 non-refundable deposit due by January 3, 2006.
