POTTSVILLE, PA — The Captains Club are officially communicating the opportunity for potential rookies to get registered and begin entering scorecards. What appears to be an 10 month notice is only 90 days since letters of intent will be mailed on November 15.

"We would like everyone that has friends thinking about Carl 2006 to get them registered", said member Chad Long. "We have a great tournament and would like to see great things happen. Great things happen with accurate handicaps an organized events."

The Carl Spackler Open is scheduled for June 7-10, 2006. There are many possible locations for the tournament including Mount Sterling, KY, Ottawa Lake, MI, Jackson, MI, Wheeling, WV, Charles Town, WV, Morgantown, WV, Buffalo, NY, and Rochester, NY. The official location is to be announced sometime in October.

The 2002 Williamsburg tournament rookies more than doubled the field from Myrtle Beach.  The Ohio version of Spackler introduced 61% more rookies.  The 17 additional golfers took the field to 32 players in June 2003.  The rookie class increased only 9% in 2004.  The class included 21 new personalities and a tournament of 48 players.  Mountain Valley brought rookie growth of 25% and 27 unique individuals to a record size 68 player tournament.

There is no evidence that the rookie class will grow in 2006.  In fact, the tournament is expected to grow, but introduce more than 21 rookies.  "We have forecasted in depth for 2006," says CEO Jamie Myers.  "The 2006 venue location along with probable price increases should lose some ignorant rookies.  The Club strongly changes their target forecast to 84 golfers until further notice."

The target moves overall growth to 25% for the 6th installment of this major championship. The 2006 Carl Spackler Open begins in 303 days.
