CLAYTON, NC — The Clarion Inn is tentatively scheduled as the hotel to host the 2006 Carl Spackler Open Field.  The hotel is being chosen as the residence of choice due to its close proximity to a plethora of entertainment options.

The Raleigh-Durham airport is a short 15 drive to the hotel.  In the heart of downtown Raleigh, the hotel is a short 25 minute drive from the golf course.  The Captains Club will be looking into bus transportation to and from the course to ensure a pickled field gets to and from the course safely.

The hotel offers free parking which is a great option as the cars driven to the hotel should not leave their spots once the hotel is reached.  All entertainment options are within walking distance from the hotel.  Although Raleigh is a city, the blocks to and from the variety of watering-holes are not true city blocks.  

The field should expect to see a definite upgrade in sleeping arrangements from last year’s River Inn.  Additionally, the check in process is guaranteed to be a much more efficient process with remote controls already in the rooms.
