BARNESVILLE, PA — The 2011 Carl Spackler Open is days away. The hotel, buses, and golf course are ready. Are the players? The Captains Club held another press conference to discuss the important expectations and instructions surrounding the 11th annual event.

"Our golf vacation is planned; however there are responsibilities and instructions for each vacationer," says winner of the 2010 Carl Spackler Open, Jay Myers. "It is more desirable to go Paula-Creamer-pink-shoe-shopping with Jason Watson than repeat multiple instructions forty times on Thursday. Please read the information supplied regarding the event."

THURSDAY OPTIONAL 7:45AM PRACTICE ROUND

There will be 12 pairing sheets distributed at the golf course for the 12 golfers without a Wednesday night hotel reservation. Dave Osborne will be distributing those remaining pairing sheets.

Golf carts will not be moved prior to the shotgun start with minor planned exceptions. Golfers can head directly from the parking lot to the practice range.

The start time is 7:35AM with shotgun start at 7:45AM.

Return all golf carts to the "Cart Drop off Area" when finished with 18 holes. Everyone (regardless of seniority) must gather their belongings and re-cart for the Traditional 2:15PM Practice Round. There are 30 minutes scheduled between rounds if the 7:45AM round takes 6 hours.

Both fully completed scorecards are expected to be given to Greg Garrett or Chris Philipsen.

"We are expecting to have one very successful event," says Myers. "People that can follow direction will be permitted to touch my Golden Jacket and Championship Trophy."

The 2011 Carl Spackler Open will be held at Mountain Valley Golf Course. Nightlife will include two deck parties on the clubhouse deck and live music on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. There are 97 golfers expected for Thursday.
