Carl has done it again. With the addition of this award to the Carl Spackler Open Championship in 2002, Carl has made this tournament more than just about the sport of golf. It now defines a player's character. Nominations will be taken verbally throughout the weekend, and the Tournament Honoree will select the top three. The award can be won by anyone, however this individual must demonstrate, by a majority decision, what it truly is to be a "Horses Ass". Mind you, alcohol consumption may have absolutely nothing to do with the fields? determination. The voting for this award is anonymously taken just prior to the Awards Ceremony. All field members will participate and must provide detailed accounts of their candidate's actions leading to their legitimacy. Should there be a tie: the field, minus those nominees in the tie, will conduct a re-count vote, only for those members in the tie. Should there be a second tie: the Captain?s Club, minus those that are contestants for the award, will determine the winner.
