DUBLIN, OH — Ohio native Brent Focht announced he will not only begin to play amateur golf at the highest level, but has backfilled scorecards including May 2004.  He made the announcement at his news conference in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday. Focht, 37, registered a few months ago and hinted at a possible attendance in Pottsville, PA.

"I feel that the time is right for me to register for this premier group event," Focht said. "It has always been my dream to enter an amateur golf tournament and I think I am ready for that. Brent plans to play a full summer golf schedule in 2005."

Focht placed 36th in the 2004 On Tour Championship with 35.7 points per round.  He hovers around 100 strokes per round, however plays a variety of golf courses.  His latest round over Halloween was played at Darby Creek.  It consisted of 1 birdie, 4 pars, and 4 bogeys.

The 2005 On Tour Championship will begin on February 1.  The latest NOOG points can be found in 10 days.  The 2005 Carl Spackler Open registration deadline is also in two weeks.
